Have you ever felt that there were barriers in your way and if only things were different you might actually reach your goals? Let me tell you an inspiring story about a woman who didn’t give up easily.
She was one of six children. She enjoyed writing as a child and even created her own book at a very young age. As she got older, she followed the educational wishes of her parent but never lost track of her passion.
One day she came up with an idea to write a story that really excited her. She was so enthusiastic about her project she decided to quickly take action. One day she came up with an idea to write a story that really excited her. She was so enthusiastic about her project she decided to quickly take action. She scheduled time to pursue her goal around her daily activities while also raising her daughter.
Although she encountered obstacles along the way, she didn’t let them deter her. Instead she maneuvered around them. At one point she required the support of social benefits as a single parent doing the best she could to raise her child. She continued step by step toward her goal and didn’t let obstacles, limiting beliefs or lack of experience stop her from reaching it.
Even after years of working on her book, she never gave up. She was turned down by multiple publishers and heard typical comments including the difficulties of making money from children’s books. She could have told herself that she was not a good enough writer and given up. She could have given up when she began parenting her daughter alone. She could have given up because of the length of time before she would see possible results. But she did not.
She went on to become one of the greatest authors of all time because she decided to succeed and did not let anything stand in the way of her passion and goals. Her book became a series. Her series was turned into several movies, and best of all, she inspired millions of children to develop a love for reading!
You may already have figured out the author described in this story. Her name is JK Rowlings, the author of the Harry Potter books. Imagine if any one of her challenges, thoughts or time constraints caused her to give up and never write that first book?
